Terms
Last updated: October 2026
These terms explain how RIVA works and how to use it. By using RIVA, you agree to them.
1. What RIVA does
RIVA shows warning signs and facts it can find about a business, with the source and date for each one. It helps you decide. It does not decide for you.
2. Reports are not verdicts
RIVA does not say that a business is legal, safe, good or a scam. A report shows what was checked, what was found, and what could not be checked. Please read it alongside your own judgement.
3. Sources
RIVA relies on third-party sources, such as public registers, banks and public web pages. These can be incomplete or out of date. Each finding shows its source and date so you can check it yourself.
4. Verified facts
Where a business shows a verified fact, such as a registration record or a matching account name, it means RIVA found that specific fact from the stated source on the stated date. It does not mean RIVA endorses the business or guarantees its conduct.
5. Corrections
If you believe a finding is wrong, tell us and include the evidence. Businesses may also request a review. We will check the request and update the report where needed.
6. Plans and payments
Free, Pro and Premium plans have the limits shown on the pricing page. Pro and Premium renew automatically each month at the price shown at checkout, until you cancel. Before you subscribe, you will be asked to confirm that you understand the plan renews automatically. You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation stops the next renewal, and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. The single report is a one-time payment. Payments are not refundable, except where Nigerian law requires a refund.
7. Your account
Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Do not use RIVA to harass, threaten or defame anyone.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, RIVA is not responsible for decisions you make using its reports. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Nigerian consumer law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and we will tell you about major changes.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
