RIVA helps you look at a business before you pay it. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have written it in plain language.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, and your password in scrambled form only.
- What you search: the business name, account number, handle or link you enter, and the report RIVA produces.
- Saved history: reports you choose to save to your account.
- Security records: sign-in attempts, the time and your IP address, used to keep accounts safe.
- Payments: our payment provider handles your card or bank details. We receive a payment reference and your plan status, never your card number.
Why we use it
- To run your checks and show your reports.
- To keep your account secure.
- To send codes, reset links and account messages.
- To fix problems you report and reply to your messages.
- To improve the service, using totals rather than individual names where possible.
Who can access your information
- Our team can view account and search records only when needed to fix a problem you reported, reply to a message you sent, or protect the service. Every access is logged with its reason.
- Service providers, such as email, hosting and payment providers, receive only what their part of the service needs.
- We do not sell your personal information.
How we keep it safe
Passwords are stored in scrambled form. Connections are encrypted, access is limited, and security events are logged. No system is perfectly safe, so please use a strong, unique password.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and saved history until you delete them. Security logs are kept for 12 months, then removed.
Your choices
You can ask us to show, correct, export or delete your information. You can also contact the Nigeria Data Protection Commission if you have a concern about how we handle your data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and tell you about major changes.
